This custom-made multimedia wall was designed to fit an entertainment section in the living room of a single-family house in Schaumburg, IL. The design was focused on accommodating a 75-inch LED TV and a Hi-Fi surround sound audio system. The customer complained that he couldn’t find anything on the market that could fit his space and all the components and features that he was looking to have, such as a built-in AV Receiver, Blu-Ray DVD Player, and Record Player with storage cabinets for vinyl records and drawers for CDs and DVDs.

All of the cabinets were custom-made and designed to perfectly fit the entertainment space. The cabinets were made of ¾” oak plywood in combination with solid white oak doors and drawers. These three upper cabinets that go against the ceiling are designed for storage space for house items. One side bookshelf cabinet hosting books CDs and DVDs in the there drawers.

On the bottom, there are two large cabinets. One is entirely enclosed and hosts vinyl records and other household items. The lower cabinet is specifically designed to accommodate an AV Receiver, Blu-Ray DVD Player, Game Consoles, and other electronics. Its doors are made with transparent plexiglass that allows for the IR remote control to pass through.

On top of the two lower cabinets are two countertops made out of 2” thick solid wood. They have a decorative cut front edge as well as embossed grain, giving it a rustic look. The wall behind the TV is custom-made out of 100% natural cedar aged to look like reclaimed wood. Two floating shelves on the wall are finished like the countertops.

The 75-inch TV is installed on the wall with a pull-put mechanism that allows it to be pulled and tilted toward the dining area of the room. The team also installed LED lights behind the TV that lid when the TV is turned on. This further enhances the watching experience and the whole look of the wall. All of the cables for the TV, video, and audio systems are embedded and hidden behind the wall and inside the cabinets. There are additional surround sound speakers installed at the back of the room.
